Truncated Octahedron 133

Polyhedron 133 is known as a
Truncated Octahedron and is made
from Purple Heart, a very hard and
dense wood from South America. When freshly cut, this wood looks brown. Within a matter of days, after being exposed to light and air, the color changes to a brilliant purple and then tones down to the beautiful color seen here. It measures 12-1/4” in diameter and sits 13-1/4” high in the stand. Its 14 faces of squares and hexagons are made from 72 pieces.
